As part of the work of the Department of Monitoring and Coordination of the National Oncology Strategy, analyses are conducted in collaboration with domain experts.
The aim of these analyses is to assess the current state of the oncology care system in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers. Additionally, the analyses aim to monitor the implementation of individual tasks of the National Oncology Strategy and evaluate the impact of implemented solutions on improving the quality of oncology care.
The report presents baseline data for 7 indicator cancers (those with high frequency and significant social impact, accounting for over 50% of malignant cancers in Poland, for which effective primary and/or secondary prevention is mostly possible, with an established diagnostic and therapeutic pathway).
The results achieved by Polish patients can serve as a proper measure of progress in oncology care in Poland.
Indicator cancers:
- malignant lung cancers
- malignant colorectal cancers
- malignant breast cancers
- melanomas
- malignant cervical cancers
- malignant ovarian cancers
- malignant prostate cancers
A detailed description of the key elements affecting the effectiveness and quality of treatment will allow for a comparison of results after 5 and 10 years of the National Oncology Strategy's implementation.
