At the Maria Sklodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, we are committed not only to effective treatment but also to building mutual trust and understanding. Every patient has the right to respect, empathy, and accurate information. We are here to assist you – therefore, we encourage open dialogue, asking questions, and sharing your feelings. Below you will find the principles we adhere to in our daily care for you – so that you feel safe, understood, and cared for.
Remember that:
- You can tell us how you would like to be addressed.
- You have the right to know the name of the person treating you and their role. If they forget to introduce themselves, you can ask them.
- If you do not understand something or are unsure about your treatment, the procedure, or diagnostics, and you wish to know more – feel free to ask! We will do our best to explain.
- We want to be honest with you – if we know that a certain action (medical procedure) might cause pain, we will inform you.
- We will treat you with respect, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible here.
- If you need our support, a conversation, or comfort, you can ask us for it.
- We will try to ask for your opinion in matters where we can offer you a choice.
- If you would like to tell us about something you like or dislike about our behaviour or during your stay in the hospital – please do so, and we will try to listen attentively.
- We care for all patients equally. We may not always have as much time for you as you might wish, but we will strive to have as much as possible.
Attention! Please read carefully:
- If something happened at home or in our hospital that you do not accept, if someone crossed your boundaries or behaved in a way you find unacceptable – please tell us about it!
- If something worries you, concerns you, or you have a secret that makes you feel uncomfortable – you can talk to us about it and ask for our help.
- We will try to resolve your issue and ensure your safety.
